Where to install knobs on your kitchen drawers and cabinets

You may think the challenge is over once you've decided on your cabinet hardwares, there is more in it for you. It's time to make a decision where exactly they should be installed.

Below is our placement guide for knobs, for handles, please see here.

Please note this guide is not exhaustive. There are other creative and less common placements not included here.

1. Cabinet doors

Generally, knobs are placed 2-3 inches from the edge of the door vertically. Horizontally, if you have a thick shaker profile (45mm+), the knob can be centred on the shaker face, or on the recessed panel, as seen below.

If you have a thin shaker profile (under 45mm), the knob should be place on the recessed panel. See below.

2. Cabinet drawers

For thicker shaker profile from 45mm, place knob in the centre of the entire drawer front, or in the centre of the raised profile.

For thinner shaker profile less than 45mm, place knob in the centre of the entire drawer front, or 2-3 inches (5-7.5cm) from the top edge of the drawers

For large cabinet drawers that require 2 knobs on each face, centre placement would look best.

There you have it, we hope this guide will be helpful in your kitchen renovation process.
